National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a voluntary youth organization working under the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. It aims to inculcate discipline, a sense of unity, and patriotism among the youth and trains them for the nation-building process by developing leadership traits and comradeship. NCC Army Unit of Govt. College Kottayam is an NCC senior division wing attached to the 16 Kerala Battalion NCC Unit under the Kottayam Group of Kerala and Lakshadweep Directorate. The unit has a sanctioned strength of 108 cadets. This NCC unit is led by Lt.

Science forum is a platform designed for interaction between students and teachers interact on recent development in science and technology. This forum ensures scientific temperament among students by providing interaction with eminent scientists and various science activities. The Science Forum conducts science talks to the nearby school students on fundamental science to build scientific throughts from childhood. The Science Forum conducts the INTERCOLLEGIATE SCIENCE QUIZ program from 2021 for commemorating PROF.

The NSS has been introduced in colleges and universities all over India in response to the Kothari Commission’s recommendation that education should be oriented to the social needs by involving students in service to the community. It is a voluntary organization for students and the teachers. A student volunteer who has completed 240 hrs of work and attended a special camp during the course of two years is eligible for NSS Certificate from the University. This certificate gives weightage for higher studies and is an additional qualification for appointment in public services.
