The Department of Physics has been a hub of academic excellence, contributing significantly to research and education in the realm of physical sciences. Over the past five years, the department has garnered acclaim through the publication of 16 international papers, showcasing its commitment to advancing knowledge in fields such as material science, nanoscience, solar cells, magnetic materials, and crystal growth. Collaborative efforts with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, have propelled the completion of two major research projects and two minor research endeavors within the last few years. Currently, the department is engaged in a post-doctoral research project. The elevation of the department to a research department by MG University in 2016 underscores its dedication to scholarly pursuits.

Vision

The department aspires to be at the vanguard of scientific exploration, offering comprehensive insights into the fundamental principles governing the universe and natural phenomena. Through both theoretical and experimental approaches, we aim to cultivate a profound understanding of the physical world.

Mission

Our mission is twofold: to nurture students with critical thinking and analytical skills essential for personal and professional growth, and to instill in them a deep-seated appreciation for scientific inquiry. By fostering creative thinking and analytical capabilities, we seek to empower students to navigate the complexities of the modern world. Furthermore, we endeavor to cultivate a culture of scientific literacy that inspires a passion for research and exploration in the field of physics.
